Technical Accounting Manager

A fast-growing, highly innovative real estate and investment management firm is looking to hire a new Manager to their team. This role sits at the intersection of SEC reporting, technical accounting, and process transformation. You’ll take ownership of the SEC reporting function for a non-traded REIT while partnering cross-functionally to enhance reporting processes, strengthen controls, and support technical accounting initiatives. Responsibilities: Lead the preparation and review of SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K) in accordance with US GAAP and SEC requirements Own and drive the quarterly close-to-filing reporting process, including coordination of internal controls Draft and refine MD&A in partnership with senior leadership and cross-functional teams Oversee XBRL/iXBRL tagging and ensure accuracy of disclosures Partner on technical accounting research, memos, and implementation of new standards Monitor evolving FASB/SEC guidance and assess impact on reporting Collaborate closely with external auditors and support audit and review processes Identify and implement process improvements and reporting efficiencies Qualifications: 6+ years of experience in public accounting and/or SEC reporting Strong ownership of full-cycle SEC filings (10-Q and 10-K required) Deep knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements Experience with technical accounting research and memo writing Strong communication skills and ability to partner across teams CPA preferred Preferred: Experience within REITs, real estate, or complex entity structures Exposure to non-traded REITs or NAV-based reporting environments Experience working with external auditors and managing review cycles #J-18808-Ljbffr Buckingham Search
