Medical Laboratory Technologist
$25 - $37 per hourLabcorp
Labcorp seeks a Medical Laboratory Technologist for its Chesapeake, Virginia facility to perform routine and complex laboratory testing procedures, operate instrumentation, and ensure specimen quality. The position requires a bachelor's degree in a life science field and clinical laboratory experience.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate specimen acceptability and prepare samples for testing procedures
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation for proper function
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures following departmental protocols
- Document and perform preventative maintenance and quality control checks
- Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care delivery
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- 3+ years of clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree
- ASCP or AMT certification preferred
- Proficiency with laboratory information systems and computer skills
- Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
- Experience in high-volume laboratory environments
Compensation: $25 - $37 per hour
