Engineering ManagerCadrex is searching for an Engineering Manager to implement and maintain the engineering process. Works closely with other departments to ensure continuity in Engineering, Operations, Quality and Safety.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the generation of new pricing proposals, with new and existing customersTake an active role in growing new business by continual training and evaluation of new technology, and optimization of the estimating processIdentify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and partsProvide technical expertise or support to manufacturing and qualityIncorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operationsConfer with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project statusConsult or negotiate with clients to prepare project specificationsPresent and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clientsPerform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or servicesAnalyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projectsDevelop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the Engineering and technical work performed in the Engineering DepartmentSelects, develops, trains, and supervises Engineering staff (Estimating & Engineering)Sets annual departmental/individual goals, and measure progress throughout the yearSupports the selection of correct manufacturing processes, technologies and equipment used for new productsSupport and enforce the NPI processSupport budgeting efforts (Labor, Equipment, OH)Preferred QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of industry experience in a high-volume manufacturing environmentPossess well-developed and demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and project management skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervisionPC knowledge/computer literate; including the ability to work with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.), e-mail and use the InternetWorking knowledge of LEAN principlesExcellent organizational skillsWorkflow analysis skillsExperience with high volume manufacturingMust have strong project planning and management skills to prioritize tasks and establish framework and systems for managing areas of responsibilityAbility to work in a multi-functional team environmentSkills in 2D and 3D CAD (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred)Knowledge of ISO 9001 a plusSupervisory experience is a plusEducationBachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering preferredMay substitute 7+ years related experience in lieu of degree or equivalent combinationLocationOnsiteScheduleM-FTotal Compensation IncludesHealth/dental/vision coverageEmployer-paid and supplemental life insuranceShort- and long-term disability insuranceGenerous paid time off and holiday payMonthly remote work stipend (for remote employees who qualify)401(k) investment plan, with an employer match of up to 4%Education support programSafety eyeglasses/shoe reimbursementReferral bonusesBonus plan for all full-time employeesWork EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration.
