Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience for a night shift position at an acute care hospital in Georgia, covering all floors including ICU, Open Heart, NICU, and Trauma ED.

Job Details

• Full-service acute care hospital setting covering all floors, including a 30-bed ICU, 25-bed Open Heart unit, 25-bed NICU, and a 47-bed Trauma ED with 5 trauma bays,
• Patient population spans neonates to geriatrics,
• Clinical skills utilized include ventilator management, BiPAP management, medicated aerosol treatments, intubation, ABG draws and analysis, CPT, Nitric oxide therapy, and COVID patient management,
• Open Heart respiratory support is part of the clinical scope,
• Required EMR and equipment experience: Epic, Servo I, GE, Hamilton, and PB840 ventilators,
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:00,
• Every other weekend required,
• Floating within the facility and within scope of practice is required,
• No on-call requirements,
• 12-week assignment,

Job Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required,
• Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required,
• Active Georgia state RT license required - license required if applicable,
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required,
• Experience with Epic EMR required,
• Hands-on experience with Servo I, GE, Hamilton, and PB840 ventilators required,
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position,
• Candidates must have been away from all facilities in this health system for at least 1 full year to be eligible as a returning traveler,
• Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration,
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive respiratory therapy services across multiple units including ICU, Open Heart, NICU, and ED,
• Department operates 24/7 with 12-16 therapists on day shift and 10-13 therapists on nights,
• Scrubs may be any color except all-red or all-navy-blue,
• RTO is capped at a maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment,
• If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all applicable holidays with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two and may request one holiday off for review,
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day,
• No scheduling change requests or alternate shift requests are accepted - the posted night shift schedule is firm,
• Local candidates are accepted for this position,
• The shift listed is fixed; no alternate shifts or schedule modifications will be considered
