Insurance Analyst I

Position OverviewWe are seeking an Insurance Analyst I to support patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies by facilitating insurance verification, prior authorizations, appeals, and reimbursement activities. This role plays a critical part in helping patients gain access to prescribed therapies while ensuring a high level of customer service and accuracy.ResponsibilitiesVerify medical and pharmacy insurance benefits and coverage.Process and monitor prior authorizations and appeals.Communicate with insurance carriers, providers, and patients regarding claim and authorization status.Research reimbursement guidelines, coverage requirements, and financial assistance options.Document patient and insurance information accurately in internal systems.Resolve insurance-related issues and escalate complex cases as needed.Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.Qualifications1-3 years of experience in healthcare, pharmacy, reimbursement, insurance, or patient access support.Previous experience in a healthcare call center, insurance provider, specialty pharmacy, or healthcare office.Strong knowledge of:Insurance verificationPharmacy and medical billingPrior authorizations and appealsCommercial and government insurance programsReimbursement processesProficient with Microsoft Office and navigating multiple systems.Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.Preferred QualificationsPharmacy call center experience.Medical claims processing experience.Specialty pharmacy or patient assistance program experience.Work EnvironmentFully remote, work-from-home position.Must have a private, HIPAA-compliant workspace free of distractions.Primarily outbound calls to insurance payers, providers, and healthcare stakeholders.Why Apply?Fully remote opportunity.Long-term contract with career growth potential.Gain specialized experience in insurance, reimbursement, and patient access services.Join a team dedicated to improving patient access to critical healthcare therapies.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
