Project Engineer - Water Resources

We are seeking a Project Engineer - Water Resources to support the planning, design and delivery of water-related infrastructure and environmental projects. Working with a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to projects involving flood risk management, drainage, stormwater, river engineering, water supply, catchment management and sustainable water infrastructure. You will help develop practical, resilient solutions that respond to technical, environmental and community needs.


Your responsibilities will include preparing technical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates; undertaking hydrological and hydraulic assessments; supporting flood modelling and drainage studies; reviewing survey and site information; and assisting with the preparation of planning, permitting and construction documentation. You will coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, regulators and internal specialists, attend site inspections, contribute to project meetings and help monitor programme, budget, quality and risk. You may also be required to support tendering, procurement, construction supervision and the delivery of smaller projects from concept through to completion.


Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, water resources engineering, environmental engineering or a related discipline, with relevant professional experience in water, drainage or flood risk projects. Experience with hydraulic or hydrological modelling software, CAD and commonly used engineering tools is desirable, as is knowledge of relevant standards, legislation and design guidance. You will need strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, sound commercial awareness and the ability to manage competing priorities.
