Plant ControllerThis role is a senior-level accounting/finance position focused on plant financial management, reporting, and analysis within an automotive manufacturing environment.General Accounting & CloseLead monthly, quarterly, yearly closesPrepare and review journal entries & accrualsPerform balance sheet reconciliations and prepare additional journal entries. Adjust Balance Sheet Accounts for AccrualsPrepare and validate trial balance & financial statements. Able to explain Financial StatementsDefine allocation methodologyReconcile HFM vs SAPSupport audits and compliance (SOX)Provide information about inter- and intra-company discrepanciesManagement ReportingPerform variance analysis (actual vs budget/forecast)Analyze performance by plant/platformProvide insights to local leadershipCreate and distribute management reportsCost Accounting/Inventory AccountingManage inventory valuation and movementsReconcile physical inventoryAnalyze inventory variances and lossesMaintain inventory accounting processesFinanceSupport tax, accruals, and financial controlsMonitor operational financial performanceEnsure accurate inventory accounting across plantFixed Assets/Project AccountingManage capital expenditures (CapEx)Track projects vs capital asset requestsDecide on capitalization + CIP settlementHandle asset retirements, write-offsSupport capital grants and reportingSummarize capital expenditure plan for plant > (Preparation & Authorization)Interact with program controller & CBUs for plant to create correct inputVerify fixed assets inventory and request adjustmentsConsolidationPrepare and distribute financial informationBudgeting & ForecastingBuild and review budgets and forecastsCollaborate with operations & business units to review profit plans, forecast, and receive & verify budgeting assumptions.Develop planning & budgeting assumptions for the plantSupport profit planningGeneralApply, execute and maintain function related BOS issuesSafety/ergonomic committees, participating in safety Kaizen events, participating in safety audits and safety observation feedback events.Complete safety inspections, employee observations, and monthly safety training as assigned.Plant Controller Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required8+ years in Accounting/Finance with a strong Manufacturing background.Strong preference for: Automotive manufacturing & Plant finance environment.Fluent in MS Office applications, Advanced in MS Excel.Experience with ERP's: SAP and HFM applications preferred.Strong understanding of SOX / internal controlsSoft SkillsAbility to handle ambiguity and deadlinesStrong analytical thinkingEffective communication / presentation skillsCross-functional collaboration with operations teamsPrimary Location: West Point Facility
