Location: BMH Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Description

Bronson Healthcare is looking for a board‑certified or eligible neurosurgeon to join an established team of three neurosurgeons and seven advanced practitioners. The practice is high‑volume, offers intracranial vascular disease, and serves two locations – Kalamazoo and Battle Creek. New graduates are welcome to apply.

• Collaborative interdisciplinary team including neurosurgery, neuroendovascular surgery, neurocritical care, neurology, physiatrics, sleep health, neurobehavioral health, neurodiagnostics, and advanced practice provider support.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical patient care by interviewing, examining, and treating clinical patients.
• Educate patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection through materials and resources.
• Determine required referrals and level of urgency for follow‑up or consultations.
• Exercise final medical judgment in all issues of health care.
• Prescribe medical treatment and clinical drugs.
• Order studies, tests, and ancillary services.
• Document all services in the patient's medical record.
• Review long‑term cases requiring ongoing medical attention.
• Consult with Medical Director and other professionals as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education.
• Participate in process improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by the hospital or clinic requirements.
• Oversee mid‑level medical staff and nursing clinical staff as assigned.
• Assist in resolving complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients.
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient information per federal guidelines.
• Demonstrate commitment to outstanding customer service in alignment with mission, values, and standards.

Qualifications

• Medical degree and minimum of 2 years of direct or internship experience.
• Current medical license in the state of Michigan.
• Current DEA and DPS certificate of registration.
• Must maintain all medical staff privilege requirements.
• Knowledge of professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.
• Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and proper telephone etiquette.
• Ability to work in physically demanding situations, including standing, walking, and lifting light objects.

Schedule

Full‑time, 40 hours per week. First shift.
