The Housekeeper properly cleans and sanitizes patients' rooms, common areas, bathrooms, offices, and all other spaces, as assigned.Job DescriptionQualifications:A high school diploma or G.E.D. or an equivalent combination of education and experiencePrior related experience in hospital, hospice house, nursing home, and/or general cleaning experienceMust possess technical proficiencies in housekeeping functionsStrong interpersonal skillsWorking knowledge of housekeeping industry standards and regulationsSkill in the use of and care for housekeeping equipment including, but not limited to, vacuum, dusters, chemical pumps, etc.Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language conversationallyAbility to keep simple records and to follow simple step-by-step instructionsAbility working with detergents and other cleaning chemicals used for custodial work without adverse reactionsAbility to constantly lift, pull, carry, and/or push objects weighing up to 55 poundsAbility to stand, kneel, walk, climb, crouch or bend for long periods of timeFor secondary dietary role: skill in the use of and care for dietary equipment including, but not limited to, convection oven, steam kettle, large mixer, robot coupe, blenders, dish machine, etc.Responsibilities of all employees:Represent the Company professionally at all times through care delivered and/or services provided to all clients.Comply with all State, federal and local government regulations, maintaining a strong position against fraud and abuse.Comply with Company policies, procedures and standard practices.Observe the Company's health, safety and security practices.Maintain the confidentiality of patients, families, colleagues and other sensitive situations within the Company.Use resources in a fiscally responsible manner.Promote the Company through participation in community and professional organizations.Participate proactively in improving performance at the organizational, departmental and individual levels.Improve own professional knowledge and skill level.Advance electronic media skills.Support Company research and educational activities.Share expertise with co-workers both formally and informally.Participate in Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement activities as appropriate for the position.Competencies:Satisfactorily complete competency requirements for this positionJob Responsibilities:Performs assigned housekeeping care at a single location/facility within a shift. Cleans various types of surfaces, floors, equipment, wall surfaces, wall hangings, linens and towels, beds and all components thereof, laminate wood, hardwood, TV stands and tables, radios, plastic and metal carts, etc.Completes cleaning of common areas and each patient's room/bathroom daily using infection control techniques.Provides deep cleaning as scheduled.Responsible for thoroughly cleaning all equipment used after each use.Performs other duties as assigned.Secondary duties when assigned to Dietary:Prepares meals by warming, plating and garnishing.Distributes meals and retrieve dishes.Responsible for cleaning all equipment used thoroughly after each use.Compensation Pay Rate: $18.00This position requires consent to drug and/or alcohol testing after a conditional offer of employment is made, as well as on-going compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
