Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 500-bed hospital, requiring RRT, BLS, and ACLS certifications and 1+ year of experience.

Details

• 500-bed hospital setting with specialty units including Burn ICU, Cardiac ICU, and four medical-surgical ICUs
• Day shift, 3x12 hour schedule from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend shifts required
• Epic charting system used
• Travelers may be required to float to similar units within scope as needed, with brief orientation provided

Requirements

• RRT, BLS, and ACLS certifications required
• CRT certification required; NRP and PALS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with adult critical care and emergency department settings
• Skilled in airway management, intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Experience drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experience caring for patients with ARDS, ECMO, COVID, pneumonia, and cystic fibrosis
• Experience with medication administration including nitric oxide, inhaled Flolan, and racemic epinephrine
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Former staff must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
