Material Handler

Warehouse And Distribution Job

Responsible for the accurate and efficient movement, handling, and storage of materials within the warehouse or distribution center, ensuring product integrity and timely delivery.

Job Responsibilities:

• Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials, verifying quantities against purchase orders and identifying any discrepancies or damages.
• Operate various material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, in a safe and efficient manner.
• Accurately pick, pack, and stage outgoing orders according to customer specifications and shipping schedules.
• Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper securing of freight to prevent damage during transit.
• Maintain accurate inventory records by performing cycle counts and assisting with physical inventories.
• Organize and maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or product discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
• Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned, including but not limited to, general housekeeping and product repackaging.

Job Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution environment preferred.
• Proficiency in operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack) with valid certification preferred.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly throughout the workday.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counting and verifying materials.
• Basic computer skills for inventory management systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
