1. POSITION SUMMARY

This role provides comprehensive Gastroenterology care within a large, multi facility health system. The position supports general GI services with optional advanced procedures based on training and interest. Two openings are available: one outpatient focused and one GI hospitalist focused, with flexibility to blend inpatient and outpatient responsibilities. The role is supported by a strong referral network, dedicated advanced practice providers, and modern clinical infrastructure.

2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage gastrointestinal conditions.
• Perform general GI procedures within granted clinical privileges.
• Provide inpatient or outpatient care depending on assigned role.
• Collaborate with advanced practice providers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation within the organization s EMR.
• Participate in shared call responsibilities.
• Deliver high quality, patient centered care aligned with organizational standards.
• Comply with all clinical, regulatory, and documentation requirements.

3. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology.
• Active Missouri medical license or eligibility for licensure.
• Completion of accredited fellowship training in Gastroenterology.

4. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Training or interest in advanced GI procedures (ERCP and EUS).

6. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide comprehensive Gastroenterology care across inpatient and/or outpatient settings.
• Perform general GI procedures; advanced procedures may be incorporated based on training.
• Manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions.
• Coordinate care with referring providers and clinical support teams.
• Participate in call rotation.

7. ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in departmental meetings as required.
• Support quality improvement and process optimization initiatives.

Work Environment: Hospital; Inpatient; Outpatient; Clinic/Private Practice

• Collaborative team including Gastroenterologists and advanced practice providers.
• Care delivered across inpatient units and outpatient clinic environments.

9. SCHEDULE & CALL REQUIREMENTS

• Flexible scheduling aligned with standard clinical hours.
• Call rotation approximately 1:7.
• Options for outpatient focused, inpatient focused, or blended practice models.

10. REPORTING STRUCTURE

The position reports to Clinical Leadership and collaborates with medical staff, advanced practice providers, nursing teams, and operational leadership.
