A bit about us:

Abilities Recovery Center (ARC) is a specialized fitness facility dedicated to assisting individuals who have become disabled or paralyzed due to severe injury or illness. Our mission is to provide personalized, one-on-one exercise-based therapy sessions focused on enhancing the body’s physical condition and its connection to the nervous system.

We are a small, tight-knit team committed to being leaders in our community by pioneering neurological rehabilitation through innovative technology and novel practices. Central to our approach are our dedicated specialists, who are unwavering in their commitment to helping clients achieve their goals, no matter how big or small. We will train you in all of our specialized techniques, including the use of the MÁS, a unique exercise machine invented by our lead specialist and owner of ARC.

A bit about you:

As an Exercise Specialist at ARC, your main goal is to improve the lives of those with a neurological disability through fitness and rehabilitation. We are looking for a hardworking, dependable person with a firm understanding of body mechanics. Someone who is open to learning new techniques and interested in working in a hands-on, physical position is a must!

Qualifications:

• Passion for working in the adaptive exercise world
• Excellent time management skills
• People-oriented: enjoys interacting with clients in a team environment
• Coachable and driven with high work ethic
• Able to lift heavy equipment and transfer clients
• Ability to demonstrate and explain movements and activities

Responsibilities:

• Design exercise programs tailored to a client’s needs/goals
• Operate specialized equipment with proficiency and confidence (after training period)
• Assist other specialists as needed with client sessions
• Assist with keeping the gym clean and organized

Extended Responsibilities:

- Once a trainer has demonstrated exceptional proficiency with our proprietary equipment, "The MAS," to the level expected of an expert instructor, they will be offered fully-funded opportunities to travel to various clinics across the country and, occasionally, internationally as well as participate in tradeshows around the country. Their mission is to educate clinicians on the proper use of this equipment. The MAS is available for sale worldwide, and with each purchase, we commit to sending a trainer to the buyer's location to provide comprehensive instruction on its use.

Work/education experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or related field is preferred
• Experience working with the neuro population would be great, but not necessary - the most important quality is an interest in working with this community
• Experience as personal trainer or equivalent preferred

We are a small business with many irons in the fire, in addition to working with the disabled population we have designed and produced our own proprietary equipment which we sell globally.
