Clinical Partner - PRN Nights - Behavioral Health

Overview MO-SSM Health DePaul Hospital – St. Louis. Worker Type: PRN (as needed) with shifts from 7pm to 7am.There are no guaranteed hours or benefits. Job Summary Assist under the supervision of registered nurses in performing a variety of nursing care services for patients. Qualifications Must hold one of the following: Missouri Certified Nursing Assistant License Prior experience as a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Surgical Technician, Patient Care Technician, or Behavioral Health Technician Enrolled in a nursing program and have completed the Fundamentals of Nursing program Completion of a state-approved unlicensed assist personnel program (UAP) or meet the exempted UAP guidelines (proof required). Completion of UAP through SSM Health upon hire, or if hired in Oklahoma/Wisconsin, completion of the Clinical Partner I orientation checklist during the 90‑day orientation/probation period. No prior experience required, but relevant experience is advantageous. Required professional license and/or certification: Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA). Responsibilities Receive patient care assignments from the registered nurse in charge and initiate delegated tasks for the appropriate patient age group. Collect and document data for admission assessment, reassessment, and scheduling of appointments or surgeries. Document and provide data to the RN and/or LPN regarding patient response to care and significant changes in condition. Inform licensed nurse of any changes in patient condition, complaints, or educational needs for patient or significant other. Maintain supplies and equipment, using time and supplies economically. Assist with clerical duties such as answering telephones, relaying messages, transcribing physician orders, and preparing patient medical records. In an inpatient environment: answer patient calls, take vital signs, monitor behavior and physical condition, assist with bath, ambulation, feeding, skin care, oral hygiene, bed occupancy, dressing changes, enemas, ostomy care, catheter care, specimen collection, intake and output recording, and basic nursing procedures. Prepare patients for discharge and accompany them upon dismissal as indicated. Orient new patients and significant others to the nursing unit. In an outpatient environment: manage referrals for medical and surgical specialist appointments. Provide assistance in patient care to patients three years of age or older. Maintain a constant state of alertness and act safely. Perform point‑of‑care testing according to policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Constant standing and walking; frequent use of hearing, speaking, and vision for various tasks. Frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of objects weighing 0–25lbs; occasional lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of objects weighing 25–50lbs. Occasional bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Occasional use of smell and driving.
