Job Description
Job Title: Pediatric X-Ray Technologist
Profession: Radiologic Technologist
Specialty: Pediatric Radiology
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 10-hour days, 4 days a week including weekdays and weekends
Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Experience: Minimum of 2 years
License: Certified Radiologic Technologist
Certifications: BLS (AHA), Certified Radiologic Technologist - ARRT (R)
Must-Have: Pediatric experience is preferred but not required


Description:
Department: Radiology - General X-Ray
General certification requirements include BLS.
Certification requirements include ARRT.
The department has 2 X-ray rooms and 1 fluoroscopy room.
They also have 5 portable units, 2 C-arms, 2 mini-C-arms, and 1 O-arm.
There is no requirement to float or cover other areas.
Common types of imaging and studies performed include OR, fluoroscopy, diagnostic, emergency department patients, and mobile X-rays.
The average number of scans or studies performed daily is approximately 85.
The EMR system used is EPIC, and the PACS used is Fuji PACS.
Department specific equipment includes a Canon Ultimax fluoroscopy unit and mobile units, Dell X-ray rooms, and GE C-arms.
There is 1 lead tech supervising the department.
Registered Radiology Assistants are utilized.
A Pediatric Radiologist is available in-house during daytime hours Monday through Friday.
A resident is available in-house 24/7.
IV starts are not required in this department.
Self-scheduling is not permitted.
Weekend and holiday work are required.
There is no call or standby requirement.
Scrubs are provided.
There is a department specific orientation.
Cancellation policy allows for 2 shifts per 13-week contract.
Charting system used is EPIC.
BSN is not required.
Willingness to wait for license approval is noted.
Trauma level is acute.
Care settings include acute care.
