Part-Time Cleaner

Position Function Under direct supervision of the Custodial Supervisor and School Principal, to provide responsible daily custodial operations, maintaining a sanitary and safe facility for students, employees and the public; minimizing property damage, loss and liability exposure; ensuring that assignments are completed in a safe, proper and timely manner and overseeing and supporting assigned custodians in the performance of their assignments.

Essential Functions

• Clean and maintain building/facilities.
• Perform cleaning duties for assigned school facilities (e.g. classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, grounds) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe work environment.
• Notify managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Clean and vacuum carpeted areas, including application of spot cleaning treatment.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment.
• Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms.
• Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Attend in-service training (e.g. bloodborne pathogens, cleaning solvents, floor care, first aid, etc.) for the purpose of receiving information on new and/or improved procedures.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
