FOOD UNIT LEAD (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Job Summary Coordinates activities of other food-service employees and creates an enjoyable dining experience for customers, staff, and visitors. Location and Schedule Florida International University – Chilis @ FIU, 11200 S.W. 8th Street, Miami, FL 33199 Position: Full‑time or part‑time. Hours and days may vary; details are discussed during interview. Responsibilities Provide quality customer service and one‑on‑one attention to detail. Oversee and participate in the preparation and service of food and beverage items, ensuring company standards for presentation, sanitation, safety, and portion control. Help plan menus. Ensure timely, efficient meal service and supervise serving of meals. Respond to customer complaints in person at the time of the complaint and via email for electronic complaints. Train employees; assign and coordinate work duties to promote efficiency and excellence. Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow. Use proper systems to complete required daily/weekly/monthly reports such as inventory‑cash reports, production records, payroll, and time‑keeping. Handle cash properly in accordance with the Food Accounting Manual. Order food and supplies from approved sources. Direct and participate in overall sanitation and safety of the facility and staff in accordance with company standards and government regulations. Develop sanitation schedule and ensure staff follows it for cleaning kitchen and dining areas and washing utensils and equipment. Issue written and oral instructions. Help select and orient employees and oversee staff training in relevant areas. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous customer service and supervisory experience is required.
