Production TechnicianThe Production Technician is responsible for the safe, efficient operation and surveillance of oil and gas production facilities. This role ensures reliable production through disciplined operations, effective troubleshooting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute all work in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsOperate and maintain assigned production facilities, including startups, shutdowns, and routine adjustmentsMonitor facility performance using field observations and surveillance tools; identify and respond to abnormal conditionsTroubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions within scope of responsibilityUtilize digital surveillance tools (e.g., SCADA, PI, field mobility platforms) to optimize production and identify riskMaintain working knowledge of facility systems, including separation, compression, and flow pathsSupport artificial lift operations through understanding of system impacts on surface performanceCommunicate effectively through shift handovers, status updates, and escalation of issuesCoordinate with cross-functional teams including IOC, maintenance, engineering, and vendorsComplete required documentation, reporting, and data entry accurately and on timePrioritize daily activities based on safety, production impact, and operational riskParticipate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiencyEngage in T3 training program and actively progress through competency development levelsCore CompetenciesSafety & ComplianceHazard Recognition & Risk MitigationOperational Awareness & JudgmentSurveillance & Data InterpretationFacility & System UnderstandingTroubleshooting & Problem SolvingCommunication & CollaborationAdministrative DisciplineProductivity & PrioritizationContinuous Learning & DevelopmentMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredValid driver's license with acceptable driving recordAbility to work in field environments, including exposure to varying weather conditionsBasic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capabilityAbility to follow established procedures and safety requirementsPreferred QualificationsPrevious oil & gas or industrial operations experienceFamiliarity with production facilities, compression, or artificial lift systemsExperience with SCADA systems, PI, or other surveillance toolsTechnical certification or relevant vocational trainingStrong computer skills and experience with field mobility platformsWork Environment & ScheduleField-based role with travel between production facilitiesMay require on-call rotation, overtime, and weekend work as neededExposure to noise, chemicals, and outdoor conditionsPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift, carry, and move equipment as requiredAbility to climb ladders, work at heights, and walk long distances in field conditionsAbility to wear required PPE and perform duties safely in operational environmentsRecruitment Fraud It has come to our attention various individuals and/or organizations are contacting people falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of Oxy.
