Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Home Health Biller to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the billing process for home health services, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. Your expertise will help optimize revenue cycles while providing exceptional support to our clinical staff and patients. Responsibilities Prepare and submit accurate claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with coding standards such as ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG. Review medical records and documentation to verify proper coding of diagnoses and procedures, including ICD coding, CPT coding, and DRG assignments. Analyze billing data to identify discrepancies or denials, then follow up with insurance companies or payers for resolution through medical collection efforts. Maintain detailed records of billing activities, claims status, and payment histories to support audit readiness and financial transparency. Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify documentation requirements and ensure accurate coding aligned with medical terminology and records. Stay current on industry regulations, payer policies, and updates in medical billing practices to ensure ongoing compliance. Assist in resolving patient billing inquiries promptly while maintaining a positive experience for all stakeholders. Experience Proven experience in medical billing within a home health or hospice setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of medical coding systems including ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT codes, DRG classifications, and ICD coding standards. Familiarity with EMR systems and EHR platforms used for documentation and billing processes. Prior experience handling medical records management and understanding of medical terminology is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to perform detailed data analysis related to medical billing and collections. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
