Equal opportunity employer. The Park Services Supervisor is directly responsible for the upkeep of all facilities including the restrooms, buildings, and midways. This position is responsible for hiring, scheduling, daily placement, inventory, documentation, and addressing day‑to‑day issues and concerns. Key Responsibilities Supervisory Duties: Supervise daily operations of the Park Services team and any assigned departments. Lead by example and act as a mentor and coach to all assigned hosts. Ensure compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe and productive environment. Backfill essential duties of all Park Services positions when needed. Participate in hiring, orientation, training, performance coaching, and discipline. Ensure required meal and other breaks are given in accordance with Iowa law. Assist with team scheduling and time‑keeping activities. Departmental Duties: Ensure daily and nightly cleaning protocols are completed per Park standards. Audit restrooms, eating areas, and overall park cleanliness. Proactively monitor the Park for safety hazards (e.g., wet floors, tripping hazards). Maintain records of all work completed and safety inspections. Maintain high standards of performance for all assigned areas. Ensure compliance with OSHA, DEP, ADA, and other applicable standards and regulations. Ensure hosts have the necessary supplies to perform duties. Address escalated guest concerns and provide professional solutions. Assist with lost‑child and customer service situations. Qualifications High school education preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered. 2+ years of previous Park Service, grounds, or housekeeping work experience desired. 1+ year of previous supervisory experience. Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus. Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Iowa Child Labor laws. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and be open to closing shifts. Valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Ability to safely and efficiently operate motorized vehicles and equipment. Must comply with all uniform policies. Strong attention to detail and a desire to keep the park clean and presentable. Ability to safely and properly use a variety of cleaning equipment, including brooms, mops, and chemicals. Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a professional image in compliance with all park guidelines. Exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, or squat for long periods. Ability to remain on feet for majority of the workday. Ability to remain sedentary for periods while using a computer. Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 50 pounds or more. Ability to use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools consistently. Visual acuity to see details of objects more than a few feet away. Working Conditions Frequent exposure to all outdoor and indoor areas of the park. Exposure to variable outdoor temperatures, heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions. Exposure to repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and highly populated areas. Exposure to cleaning chemicals and potential bloodborne pathogens. Use of proper PPE as required in these situations. Frequent interruptions and requests that require reprioritization of activities. Benefits Flexible schedule.
