Nightclub Host/Security Team Lead

Job Overview

The Karr Group, Killington, Vermont’s largest hospitality management company, is seeking a Team Lead to join the security team at the legendary Pickle Barrel Nightclub .

The Pickle Barrel is Killington’s go-to late-night destination, welcoming guests and musicians from around the world. As Team Lead, you’ll help oversee the nightclub Host/Security team while ensuring guests have a fun, safe, and memorable experience .
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong communication and leadership skills who is comfortable working in a busy nightlife environment and can confidently handle challenging situations.

About the Position

The Team Lead helps oversee the Host/Security team during nightly operations and serves as a key point of contact for both employees and management.
Responsibilities include:

• Lead and support the Host/Security team during nightly operations
• Help assign positions and coordinate team responsibilities
• Ensure guests are greeted and treated professionally
• Oversee proper age and identification checks
• Monitor the crowd and identify potential safety or security concerns
• Respond to guest issues and help de-escalate tense situations
• Address inappropriate guest behavior and assist with removing patrons when necessary
• Communicate incidents and concerns to management
• Ensure team members follow company policies, safety procedures, and hospitality standards
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment throughout the night
• Coach and support team members to promote a positive and professional work environment
• Serve as a leader and role model for the Host/Security team

What We’re Looking For

• Previous leadership, security, hospitality, or nightlife experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Confident leadership style and ability to take initiative
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
• Strong conflict-resolution and de-escalation skills
• Familiarity with responsible alcohol service and nightlife operations
• Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
• Commitment to providing excellent hospitality and guest service
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods

About the Pickle Barrel

The Pickle Barrel Nightclub is one of Killington’s most iconic nightlife destinations, featuring live music, entertainment, and a high-energy atmosphere. The club primarily operates Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights , with occasional Wednesday or Sunday nights during the winter season.
