Principal The Association for the Advancement of Mexican Americans seeks a Principal to lead daily operations, oversee curriculum development, and supervise staff while fostering a positive, safe learning environment that supports academic success. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and management skills to oversee budgets, ensure compliance, build community with parents and staff, and drive strategic goals for student achievement. Essential Functions Supervise classroom instructional practices. Plan, organize, and direct the implementation of all school activities. Establish and maintain an effective learning climate. Work cooperatively with the Superintendent to ensure effective implementation of the curriculum and mandated assessments. Establish guidelines and foster positive incentives for student behavior. Initiate, design, and implement programs to meet the school's specific needs. Keep the Superintendent informed of the school’s activities and any arising issues. Communicate regularly with parents, seeking their support and advice, to build a cooperative relationship that helps students in school. Establish a professional rapport with students and staff. Display the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with students, parents, and school personnel. Serve as a role model for students, dressing professionally and demonstrating the importance of appearance in the education profession. Coordinate and facilitate staff development training. Perform other duties as assigned or required. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Vision : Provide instructional leadership, set academic goals, and drive school improvement. Curriculum & Instruction : Develop, implement, and evaluate academic programs; ensure high-quality teaching and learning. Staff Management : Supervise, evaluate, hire, and provide professional development for teachers and support staff. Student Support : Ensure a safe, inclusive environment; manage student discipline; meet with parents about student progress. Operations & Budget : Oversee daily activities, manage budgets, procure supplies, and maintain facilities. Community Engagement : Communicate with parents, community members, and the school board; build positive relationships. Compliance & Reporting : Ensure adherence to laws and regulations; prepare reports on student performance. Core Skills Strong leadership, decision-making, and strategic thinking. Required Education, Certification, and Experience Bachelor’s Degree required (master’s degree preferred). Principal Certification required. Five years of experience as a classroom teacher. Three years of administrative or supervisory experience. Experience preparing and managing budgets. Additional Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Master's in education/leadership preferred. Valid state educator/principal certification preferred. Experience in school leadership/administration required. Position Type and Salary Position Type: Full-Time Salary: $95,000 Per Year Job Requirements At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred. Master's degree preferred.
