Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Echo Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Duration: 13 weeks Hours per week: 40 Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel We are looking for an Echocardiogram Technologist (Echo Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Charleston, SC. The right Echo Tech must have 1 year of experience. Read below for additional requirements. Responsibilities As an Echo Tech, you will be responsible for the use of the cardiac ultrasound machine and ensuring that images are accurate and passed on to physicians for medical interpretation. Echo Techs are also responsible for the preparation of and caring for patients undergoing echocardiograms. Tasks Educate patients and/or patient's family regarding procedures performed Demonstrate competence in performance of echocardiographic studies Consistently perform quality Doppler and color Doppler Exams Acquire quality Stress Echo and Dobutamine images according to Physician and benchmark standards Perform quality Trans esophageal echocardiograms according to physician expectations Demonstrate an understanding of cardiac disease processes and acquired images Report findings or concerns to reading physician for prompt interpretation Perform all related processing required for each completed study Maintain equipment including cleaning and disinfecting according to department procedure and identifying problems with equipment and reporting appropriately Maintain accurate patient records Understand and use the McKesson PACS system Requirements Must have 1 year of experience. BLS, ARDMS-RDCS or CCI-RS National Certification and state‑specific licensing when required. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. Must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
