ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or a valid compact-state RN license in hand at the time of submission At least 2 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications EPIC charting experience Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program Two professional references, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader Ability to complete required credentialing and Ohio fingerprinting promptly after accepting the assignment Comfort floating to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed Critical Care Float Pool Responsibilities Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult patients across a variety of ICU settings Float among Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, Cardiology, and other designated critical care units according to staffing and patient acuity Assess patients, identify changes in condition, and promptly communicate clinical concerns Manage ventilated patients, telemetry, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, EVDs, chest tubes, and other critical care equipment Titrate vasoactive, cardiac, sedative, insulin, and other continuous intravenous therapies according to established protocols Interpret cardiac rhythms, 12-lead EKGs, and arterial blood gases Provide care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction, acute renal failure, stroke, complex cardiac conditions, and post-operative needs Administer blood products, emergency medications, procedural sedation, and other specialized therapies within scope of practice Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rehabilitation, social services, rapid response teams, and other members of the care team Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC while upholding infection prevention, safety, and quality standards Apply now for this ICU Registered Nurse travel assignment and bring your critical care experience to Columbus, Ohio.
