That means our teams are not simply maintaining existing systems; they are building new capabilities, solving first-of-their-kind challenges, and helping define what persistent.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support the design and implementation of Mission Control and Ground Software. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for working closely with our internal and external customers, partners, and operations team to drive the technical solutions that connect manned and unmanned stratospheric flight platforms to our ground systems.Candidates for this position should have a track record of delivering quality software solutions in an iterative manner that meet the needs of their users. They should be comfortable working in a team environment, onsite and remote, and be receptive to both giving and receiving constructive feedback.Role ResponsibilitiesGather, organize, analyze, and normalize requirements, producing natural-language software requirements specificationsDesign, develop, test, and maintain software according to the development process employed by the team while contributing improvements to that processDevelop and contribute to automated test and flight infrastructure (hardware and software) as necessary for automated test developmentCommunicate clearly and frequently, remaining engaged with the team through chat, e-mail, voice calls, and physical meetingsWork with the self-driving software development teams to provide new features and capabilitiesDevelop and maintain standards-compliant and extensible codeRespond to and troubleshoot system issues raised by usersWork according to project plans, identifying tasks, providing effort estimates, completing tasks on time, and reporting status accuratelyProviding inputs to mission planning products and documentationSupporting mission operations in Mission ControlProvide support, documentation, and training materials for new and updated mission operation toolsUndertake recurring Mission Control Training for mission operation supportImprove products and documentation during and post-mission operations to continually reduce flight risks and improve system reliabilityQualificationsBS in Computer Engineering or Computer Science5+ years experience with 2+ years experience leading projectsExperience with a variety of modern web stacksAgile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)SQL and NoSQLHTML5/CSS/JavaScript/JSONPython Golang Typescript Node.js, Babel.js ElectronPostgres, and or MongoDBRESTYARN, NPMImplementation of cloud and hybrid infrastructure at scale (AWS, Azure)DevOps best-practices and CI/CD (Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible)Troubleshooting skills (real-time and in-depth analysis)Test automation principles and designWhat We OfferYou will work side by side with experts in emerging technology, gaining exposure to cutting edge ideas and projects that are shaping the future.
