Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2 years of ICU experience required; Neurosurgery experience preferred License: RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA ONLY) required Must-Have: - Epic experience required - Basic Arrhythmia experience required - Telemetry test required Description: We are seeking an experienced inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neuro ICU team. This unit specializes in the care of critically ill adult patients with various neuro diagnoses. Common conditions include stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, surgical resections, and trauma. Strong critical thinking skills along with specialized interventions and procedures are essential. The role involves hemodynamic monitoring and managing hypothermia protocols. The unit consists of 18 beds and is equipped to provide comprehensive stroke care. Nurse-driven collaboration with nationally certified physicians and interdisciplinary care teams is emphasized. The ideal candidate must be proficient in accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, and care of ventilated patients. Experience with continuous IV sedation, neuromuscular blockade, and managing CVA/Acute Stroke patients is crucial. All travelers must float as needed and those within 50 miles are not eligible. Candidates must pass a telemetry test prior to starting, with strict criteria for passing. If a traveler fails the telemetry test, they must provide proof of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course for a third attempt. The assignment may be canceled if the traveler does not pass after three attempts.
