As a Cook at Redwood Grove, your responsibilities include:

• Meal Planning and Preparation: You will plan and prepare meals that meet the specific dietary requirements of residents, ensuring they are nutritious, flavorful, and visually appealing.
• Food Safety Compliance: Adhering to strict food safety protocols to prevent foodborne illnesses and maintain a clean and sanitary cooking environment.
• Menu Development: Collaborating with dietitians and management to create diverse and balanced menus that cater to residents’ preferences and nutritional needs.
• Inventory Management: Monitoring food supplies, ordering ingredients, and controlling costs while minimizing waste and ensuring freshness.
• Team Coordination: Working closely with dietary aides, kitchen staff, and management to ensure efficient meal service and a positive dining experience for residents.
• Quality Control: Conducting regular taste tests, meal evaluations, and receiving feedback to maintain high food quality standards.

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, knowledge of dietary restrictions, and safe food handling practices.
• Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Culinary certification or relevant training is an asset.
• Experience Level: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a culinary role, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting.
