Position Overview

This role acts as a vital connection between patients, healthcare providers, and the community within a regional healthcare setting in the Pacific Northwest. The position focuses on assisting patients with lost property, addressing complaints, and facilitating service recovery. Additionally, it manages the release process for deceased patients in accordance with county regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to unit safety and infection control protocols.
• Provide effective support to healthcare professionals, patients, and families, serving as a primary liaison.
• Handle reports of lost property, working diligently to locate and resolve issues per hospital policies.
• Coordinate the release of deceased patients, communicating with families and collaborating with medical and legal authorities to ensure timely death registration.
• Accurately enter data into tracking systems and databases.
• Exercise sound judgment and escalate risk or quality concerns appropriately.
• Assist in staff training related to decedent affairs, customer service, and patient belongings.
• Participate in patient experience initiatives and support service recovery efforts.
• Support administrative supervisory duties as needed.
• Pronounce patients when requested.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years' experience in an acute patient care environment within a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent customer service skills, empathy, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient computer skills at an intermediate level.
• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.

Education

• Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current Registered Nurse license valid in the state of California.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
