Patient Demographics: All ages, high Medicaid population Patient Volume/Census: 16 per day Case Mix: General optometry, emergency eye care EMR System: Athena Support Staff Available: 1 Optometric Tech, 1 Optician Reason for Coverage: Full-time coverage needed
Credentialing Timeline: Minimal credentialing (FQHC) Licenses: Active ME license preferred Board: Board Certification by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry Experience: Experience in FQHC or high-volume Medicaid setting preferred Other Qualifications: Graduation from an approved school of optometry. Clean criminal and DHHS background.
Provide quality eye care and emergency treatment to a diverse patient population. Examine eyes and visual systems to diagnose problems or impairments. Prescribe corrective lenses and provide comprehensive treatment plans. Prescribe therapeutic drugs to treat specific eye conditions as needed. Work collaboratively across two campus locations (South Patten and Houlton) within an FQHC setting.
