Pharmacist - Boston, MA

Join as a Staff Pharmacist specializing in Home Infusion services at a well-established facility providing IV and infusion care for patients with acute and chronic medical needs. This PRN role offers flexible scheduling, primarily two days per month, with additional coverage opportunities throughout the year. The position involves direct, on-site work in Cambridge, MA, supporting a clinical pharmacy setting focused on patient-centered infusion therapy.

Job Type: Contract (PRN)

Schedule / Hours:

• 4 to 8 days training on EMR system
• Typically 2 days per month with flexible scheduling
• Shifts: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, on site
• Urgent coverage needed for July (6-10, 13-17), August 31, September (1-4, 25), and December 11

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and process physician orders, verify insurance benefits
• Perform sterile compounding and maintain cleanroom operations in compliance with USP 797 standards
• Dispense medications and infusion supplies safely and accurately
• Maintain detailed patient and pharmacy documentation following federal and state regulations
• Collaborate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and interdisciplinary teams
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
• Manage patient caseloads and provide pharmacist coverage as needed

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing
• Minimum 1+ year pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience preferred
• Experience in infusion therapy and sterile compounding preferred
• Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
• Strong communication, multitasking, time management, and critical-thinking skills
