Night Auditor Position
Home2 Suites is looking for a Night Auditor to provide guests with an excellent hotel experience while functioning as the sole Front Office Associate during the overnight shift. We are looking for someone who can provide attentive, courteous and efficient service to all guests throughout their stay while conducting the front office functions while on the 11pm 7am shift.
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting and welcoming all guests approaching the front desk in accordance with Lexima/Brand Standards.
- Responsible for the preparation and disposition of all night audit checklist work and reports as well as the front office function on the third shift.
- Handling check-ins and check-outs in a friendly, efficient and courteous manner.
- Answering all guest inquiries (i.e. hotel services and amenities, the area, etc.).
- Being aware of all rates, packages and special promotions.
- Obtaining all necessary information when taking room reservations and following rate quoting guidelines.
- Fully understanding and being able to operate all relevant aspects of the front desk computer system.
- Focusing on his/her role in contributing to guest satisfaction surveys.
- Preparing coffee set-up each morning prior to serving time.
- Passing and maintaining food handlers license as required by hotel.
- Balancing daily reports and identifying and correcting any errors.
- Maintaining cashiering responsibilities as per front office procedures.
- Ensuring correct and accurate cash handling while at the front desk.
- Distributing or tabulating any work as outlined by management.
- Complying with all safety and security procedures as they relate to the building and guest corridors to ensure all areas are locked and secured.
- Having a thorough working knowledge of security procedures.
- Training any new Night Auditors as requested by management.
- Keeping working areas neat and organized.
- Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliance with dress code and uniform requirements.
- Maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Establishing and maintaining good communications and teamwork with fellow employees and other departments within the hotel.
- Being always attentive, courteous and efficient in the dealings with clients, guests, managers and all other employees.
- Demonstrating a genuine care and commitment to guest service.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work the 11pm 7am shift.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous hospitality experience preferred.
- Knowledge of accounting principles preferred.
- Experience handling cash, accounting procedures and general administrative tasks.
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipation, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Must be fluent in English.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to stand during the entire 8 hour shift. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the requirements of this position if such accommodations do not create an undue hardship for the company.
