Construction Project Manager

ForUs Contracting, Inc. (FCI) is a federal construction prime contractor headquartered in McLean, Virginia. We perform construction, design-build, renovation, facility repair, and infrastructure projects for U.S. Government clients. FCI is expanding its federal construction portfolio and is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manage r who can take ownership of projects from award through final closeout. We are looking for a construction professional who understands how to plan the work, buy out the project, manage subcontractors, control cost and schedule, solve problems, and deliver federal construction projects successfully. What You'll Do Manage federal construction projects from award through closeout. Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, estimates, and contract requirements. Develop project execution and procurement strategies. Prepare subcontractor bid packages, solicit and level proposals, negotiate scope and pricing, and make subcontractor recommendations. Manage subcontractors and vendors across multiple construction trades. Develop and maintain project budgets, cost forecasts, schedules, procurement logs, and change management. Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation with FCI's Project Coordinator and field teams. Lead project kickoff, subcontractor, owner, and progress meetings. Coordinate with Superintendents, QC, Safety, design professionals, subcontractors, and Government representatives. Identify scope gaps, constructability issues, schedule risks, and cost exposure before they become project problems. Manage multiple concurrent construction projects. Maintain accountability for project financial performance, schedule, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Support estimating and preconstruction on new projects when required. Drive projects through punch list, commissioning, turnover, and final closeout. What We're Looking For 7+ years of progressively responsible construction management/project management experience. Demonstrated experience independently managing multi-trade construction projects . Strong subcontractor procurement and buyout experience is essential. Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, estimates, schedules, and construction contracts. Strong understanding of construction cost control, forecasting, change management, and scheduling. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong negotiation, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills. Proficiency with construction project management platforms and Microsoft Office. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline is preferred; substantial relevant construction experience may substitute. Federal construction experience is strongly preferred. Experience working with DoD, NAVFAC, USACE, VA, GSA, DOL, or other federal agencies is particularly valuable.
