divh2Registered Nurse, Rn - Cardiovascular Services Pcu 2de/h2pThe RN assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the care for a designated group of patients. The RN coordinates, directs and actively participates as an effective member of the interdisciplinary health care team, contributing to the efficient operation of the unit and promoting positive patient outcomes./ppEssential job functions include maintaining professional and technical knowledge, assuring quality of care, protecting patients and employees, documenting patient care services, maintaining continuity among nursing teams, identifying patient care requirements, establishing a compassionate environment, promoting patients independence, maintaining a safe and clean working environment, resolving patient problems and needs, maintaining a cooperative relationship among health care teams, and contributing to team effort./ppSpecialty job functions include demonstrating the ability to interpret and treat arrhythmias./ppRequired qualifications include a graduate of an accredited nursing program, strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice. Preferred qualifications include one (1) year medical/surgical, PCU or critical care experience, and a bachelors degree in nursing (BSN)./ppLicense, certification, and clearances required include current licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Pennsylvania, current basic life support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program, current ACLS or completion within one (1) year of hire/transfer into department, current NIH stroke scale or completion within six (6) months of hire/transfer into department, act 33 with renewal, act 34 with renewal, and act 73 FBI clearances with renewal./ppThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but may serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department. Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
