Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 36 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• BSN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Idaho license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Luke’s Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Luke’s Health System.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Solid MedSurg or Tele background required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Ortho, spine, or stroke experience preferred; neuro experience is a plus.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Previous employees may be considered only with an approved exception from St. Luke’s Health System.

Unit Details: Neuro Med-Surg unit caring for stroke, spine/back surgeries, cranial surgeries, neck cases, medical neuro disorders, neuro intervention procedures, Guillain-Barre, Myasthenia Gravis, seizures, and EEG monitoring. Any surgery accessing the nerves. Average patient length of stay 2-5 days. Neuroscience NPs staff 24/7 and support all neuro surgery and neuro intervention patients. Serves a large geographic area and is the only site for neuro surgery. No titratable drips. Charge RN has no patient assignment. CNA support 1:8. RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, and trachs; RT is available as a resource. Uses Epic.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekends and holidays as needed. No call. Nights are often scheduled 3 in a row when possible, but this is not guaranteed.

Floating Requirements: Float to support all Treasure Valley Med-Surg areas; travelers are first to float.

14 days maximum time off

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 3 years

Driver’s license required for submission
