EHS Technician / Safety Specialist

Position Purpose

Puts safety presence in the field every day rather than only in the office, carrying the routine compliance load so the HSE Manager can lead the program.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily field safety observations, audits and permit verification.
• Maintain safety equipment programs, including gas detectors, breathing air, fall protection, eyewash and safety showers.
• Deliver safety orientation for new hires, contractors and visitors.
• Support incident investigation and maintain incident and near miss records.
• Coordinate emergency drills and maintain emergency response equipment readiness.
• Maintain safety data sheets, hazard communication and chemical inventory records.
• Support industrial hygiene monitoring and respirator fit testing.

Required Qualifications

• Three or more years in an industrial EHS role.
• OSHA 30 and current first aid, CPR and emergency response training.
• Working knowledge of permit to work and hazardous energy control.
• Comfortable challenging unsafe work in the field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in occupational safety.
• Emergency medical technician or fire brigade certification.
• Bilingual English and Spanish.
