Beech Grove High School Head Track & Field Coach

Position: Head Track & Field Coach Location: Beech Grove High School Reports To: High School Athletic Director Position Purpose To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. Furthermore, the coach must demonstrate behaviors that promote character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the student athletes. Essential Duties Instruct student-athletes in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport. Organize and direct individual and small group practice activities/exercises. Assess student-athlete skills, monitor student-athletes during competition and practice, and evaluate student-athlete development. Determine meet strategy. Follow established procedures in the event of an injury. Model sports-like behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards students, officials, and spectators. Maintain the equipment room in orderly condition and assumes responsibility for its security. Distribute equipment, supplies, and uniforms to student-athletes. Submit a list of award winners at the end of the season. Participate in special activities to include parent’s night, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies. Perform support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data cards, and other related records.
