Senior Cost Accountant

Senior Cost Accountant – Reading, PAHours are 8 am – 5 pm Monday through FridayThe Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for overseeing cost accounting operations across multiple U.S. manufacturing locations while supporting corporate-level cost accounting, reporting, and analysis. This role partners closely with plant managers, operations leaders, and the corporate finance team to ensure accurate standard costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysis across all sites. The ideal candidate combines strong technical cost accounting expertise with the ability to standardize processes, drive consistency across locations, and support corporate consolidation, budgeting, and financial reporting needs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Lead standard costing processes (labor, material, and overhead) across multiple manufacturing facilities, ensuring consistency and accuracy in cost roll-upsAssist with corporate-level cost accounting projects, including system implementations, policy development, and internal control enhancementsAnalyze and report on manufacturing variances (purchase price, usage, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption) by location, identifying trends and root causesPartner with plant-level finance and operations teams to review inventory valuation, cycle count results, and scrap/obsolescence reservesConsolidate and analyze cost data across locations for corporate management reportingIdentify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement through data analysis and cross-site benchmarkingSupport external and internal audits by providing cost accounting documentation and analysisTravel to manufacturing sites as needed to support cost accounting initiatives and process standardizationAd Hoc Analysis and ProjectsEssential Skills:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)5+ years of progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment; multi-site experience strongly preferredStrong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variance analysisProficiency with ERP systems (Infor Syteline a plus) and advanced Excel skillsExcellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skillsBrentwood offers professional growth potential, pleasant work environment, and an excellent wage and benefits package including 401K w/employer match.
