Hospice volunteers needed!
UCM Home Care
UChicago Medicine is seeking caring and compassionate individuals interested in volunteering with the UCM Hospice team. Volunteers can work directly with patients and families in their homes providing companionship, emotional support, respite or assistance with light tasks. There are also opportunities to volunteer to work in office support or event planning with the team.
Your role will offer you meaningful opportunities to make a real difference in people’s lives! You will be part of a team that includes a dedicated physician, nurses, social workers, chaplains and a volunteer coordinator to support you.
Location: Our office is located in Harvey, Il. We serve patients in their homes in the Hyde Park and surrounding areas and the South Suburbs.
Time commitment: Your schedule will be flexible. Most volunteers volunteer for 1-4 hours a week. We ask that volunteers plan to volunteer for at least one year.
Participation requirements: A background check, occupational health screening and completion of 16 hours of volunteer training are required. All training and requirements are provided at no cost to you.
