Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Full Time

Jackson HealthPros is hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a permanent position with a local healthcare provider where you'll be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.

Minimum Requirements :

• Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science from an AMA-approved program required. Bachelor's degree acceptable where applicable.
• Successful passage of a national Respiratory Therapy credentialing exam required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred. Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) considered with documented commitment to obtain RRT within 12 months.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in New Mexico required.
• Current BLS (CPR) certification required. ACLS preferred.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Two years of post-graduate respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• One year of critical care experience preferred.
• One year of pediatric experience preferred.
• Emergency department or transport experience preferred, including experience providing respiratory support during ambulance transports and in Radiology/CT.
• Proficiency with mechanical ventilators, oxygen therapy, nebulizers, pulmonary function testing (including Flow Volume Loops, DLCO, Nitrogen Washouts), arterial blood gas draws, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Ability to perform airway management and assist with intubations. Participation in CPR/Code Blue team expected.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently lift, move, and position patients and equipment up to 50 lbs.

Position Overview :

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care across adult critical care, general medical floors, the Emergency Room, and the Pulmonary Function Laboratory.
• Administer physician-prescribed respiratory treatments and manage mechanical ventilators according to indications, contraindications, and expected outcomes.
• Perform pulmonary function testing and a range of diagnostic procedures including EKGs, stress testing, Holter monitoring, EEGs, and arterial blood gases.
• Support patient transports (ground and air) and provide respiratory care in Radiology and CT departments.
• Maintain accurate treatment documentation, patient records, and charging for services.
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate respiratory equipment to meet infection control and safety standards.
• Participate in departmental policy development, quality improvement initiatives, research, equipment evaluation, and in-service education.
• Demonstrate age-specific competencies for neonatal through geriatric patients.
• Adhere to facility compliance and report observed or suspected unethical or illegal conduct as required.

• Thorough knowledge of respiratory care principles, anatomy, physiology, medications, and relevant equipment.
• Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills in high-pressure situations.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration and patient education.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices.
• Commitment to continuing education and staying current with respiratory care advances.
• Strong patient advocacy and customer service orientation.

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequent lifting, moving, and positioning of patients and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for equipment setup and procedures.
• Visual and auditory acuity to monitor alarms, patients, and equipment.
