Job Category Forge Mang Employee Type Full Time Exempt Description Duties: Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to determine materials, labor, and equipment requirements. Read and interpret contract documents and specifications. Follow bidding procedures (plan review, specifications, takeoff, pricing, bid proposals, follow, contracts, submittals, bid breakdowns, ordering material, document control, and etc.) Assign values to the scope of work based on drawings and specifications with detailed quantitative data. Maintain knowledge of construction products, installation methods, scheduling procedures, and costs to perform. Maintain an accurate job profile including all change orders and changes in scope of work. Aid with accurate costs, billings, payment collection, and projections. Aid in material procurement and pricing. Attend site visits to ensure accurate cost tracking and projections. Maintain current risk evaluations and current costs in association to projects. Manage projects from conceptual design through completion. Identify and create construction schedules, budgets, and logistics plans. Coordinate with Clients, Subcontractors, Vendors, and our “In-House” Teams. Review and coordinate engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards. Retain and organize documentation and communication of all changes that may impact cost or schedule throughout all phases of a project. Review Building Connected assignments on a daily basis to understand and appropriately schedule time to achieve bid dates of which are assigned to the estimator. Knowledge of materials and use of division 5, 7, 9 disciplines negotiation skills. Notify the project lead and lead estimator a minimum of 48 hours in advance via email in the event a bid due date as assigned to the estimator within Building Connected cannot be met. This is a crucial responsibility for this role, and failure to timely perform the same on even one occasion may result in termination. Qualifications: Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculation. High attention to detail and accuracy. Solid understanding or willingness to learn of cold-formed metal framing and familiarity with general construction.. Knowledge of or willingness to learn On Screen Takeoff, Edge, Planswift, or other related estimating software. 3-5 years experience of Estimating and/or Project Management in Commercial Construction preferred. Professional experience or degree from an accredited institution with a focus in Estimating, Project Management, or Construction Management preferred. Physical Requirements: Must be able to navigate a jobsite as needed, including the ability to wear any required personal protective equipment (hardhat, closed toed shoes) and understand any posted or verbal safety guidelines. Must be able to work full-time in an office environment, using a computer to perform the majority of work responsibilities.
