( Job Duties We are seeking a General Activities Therapist 2 (GAT2) to join our team at Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility. Duties include, but are not limited to: + Serve in an instructional capacity for youth; plan and implement recreational activities + Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team; recommend group and/or individual treatment goals and activities; prepare and maintain reports for treatment team regarding behavior and progress + Prepare weekly activity schedule; prepare and maintain inventory records of equipment and materials Why Work for the State of Ohio: At the State of Ohio, we take care of the team that cares for Ohioans. Qualifications 30 mos. exp. with coaching, personal training, &/or fitness instruction or 30 mos. exp. providing work direction to incarcerated persons & training &/or development. Or completion of associate degree in recreation; and 12 mos. exp. in activity therapy or recreation. Or completion of undergraduate core program in recreation; and 6 mos. exp. in activity therapy or recreation. Or 6 mos. exp. as General Activities Therapist 1, 44211. Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. PRE-SERVICE TRAINING: All final candidates are required to attend 3 weeks of mandatory, paid training at the Correctional Training Academy in Orient, Ohio. This training is fully paid for and will cover lodging, transportation (if needed) and meals. Training takes place for 3 weeks, Monday through Thursday, 7AM to 5PM with Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays off.
