Registered Nurse RN Adult ICU

Location & Shift Information Mesa, Arizona. Three 12‑hour shifts per week: Day (07:00–19:30) and Night (19:30–07:30). Self‑scheduling tool available. Night shift differential 18% and a flat $3/hour weekend shift differential. Position Summary Medical Intensive Care Registered Nurse (Adult ICU‑2D) responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice. This role requires specialized knowledge and judgment to manage patient care across diverse physical, developmental, cultural, psychosocial, and spiritual needs. Core Functions Conduct comprehensive assessments of patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs; review patient history, laboratory data, and diagnostics; report abnormal results to physicians and appropriate caregivers. Formulate individualized plans of care, including discharge plans, based on assessment data, patient/family input, and the medical team’s plan. Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of health‑care team activities; ensure compliance with policies, procedures, standards of care, and regulatory requirements. Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching; revise plans of care as needed, monitor progress toward goals, and assess teaching effectiveness. Maintain accurate, timely, and legible documentation in the patient record, reflecting objective/subjective data, nursing interventions, and patient responses. Provide evidence‑based care; participate in research, shared leadership, education, orientation, and mentoring of colleagues, students, and patients’ families. Contribute to the improvement of nursing quality indicators, patient outcomes, and professional standards through active participation in professional organizations and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Supervise staff and workflow in certain roles as required. Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts to facilitate effective communication and support patient care. Minimum Qualifications Current valid RN license in the state of practice (or an active temporary/interim license, or a compact RN licensure). BLS certification. Experience in the clinical ICU setting preferred; oneyear of acute‑care experience in the past 12months required for registry and travel positions. Maintenance of clinical performance competencies via annual validations. For home‑health or behavioral‑health positions: a valid driver’s license (and active auto‑insurance for home‑health) and appropriate Arizona or Colorado fingerprint clearance card as required by specific unit or service. Additional certifications or continuing education may be required based on area of practice. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree.
