Job Description
Sterile Processing Technician General Information The Sterile Processing Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained for safe use in various clinical settings. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct decontamination and low-temperature sterilization processes.
- Perform steam sterilization and instrument assembly tasks.
- Collaborate with the department's manager, supervisor, lead technicians, and educators to uphold departmental standards.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in acute care settings preferred; ambulatory experience will be considered.
- High School Diploma required; CRCST certification preferred.
- Proficiency in decontamination, low-temperature sterilization, steam sterilization, and instrument assembly is required.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records system: Censitrac.
- Experience with sterilization equipment, including STERIS Evolution, Vpro x3, Sonics x2, and various washers and autoclaves.
- Shift Timing: 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.
- Weekend Rotation: Typically every third weekend, which may vary based on PTO.
- Orientation period of a couple of weeks will take place on day shift prior to transitioning to contracted shift.
- RTO requests will require manager approval.
- Scrubs are provided.
- Free parking available on the bottom two levels of the parking garage or in the lot behind the garage.
