Retail Sales Associate

Job Overview Position: Solutions Specialist Mobile – Cox Communications, Inc. Location: Specified Cox retail location (no remote option). Compensation: Hourly pay rate $15.29–$22.88 per hour plus an annual incentive/commission target of $15,348.00. The role may also earn up to $48,868 annually through a variable targeted total compensation plan. Requires a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities Explain and demonstrate product capabilities to customers and provide suggestions aligned with customers’ wants and needs. Meet or exceed targets regarding customer experience, sales, and retention. Assist with opening and closing of the store retail environment. Handle cash transactions properly. Engage in workshops, special events, and product demos. Support fellow sales agents when needed. Continuously expand knowledge of current Cox products and competitor offerings through regular training. May be required to work other locations within the same geographical area. Qualifications Minimum: High school diploma/GED or up to 2 years of relevant work experience. Ability to meet established sales, retention, and customer experience targets. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to sell products using a consultative, solutions-based approach. Ability to build relationships and adapt to a diverse customer base. Multi‑tasking and prioritization skills in a fast‑paced, service‑oriented team environment. Ability to remain mobile within the store for long periods to greet customers and demonstrate products. Computer literacy with an aptitude for learning communication products, services, and accessories. Willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends, evenings, and holidays. Physical ability to lift 25–50 pounds for stock room inventory. Preferred: Some college experience in sales, business, and/or management. Preferred: One year of experience in a related field (e.g., sales, retail sales, service industry). Preferred: Experience selling wireless/mobile products. Preferred: Fluency in Spanish, both written and spoken. Compensation & Benefits Variable targeted total compensation is $48,868 annually (equivalent to $23.49/hr). High earners may reach an average annual compensation of $63,224 (approx. $30.40/hr). Compensation includes a full‑time hourly base rate of $16.38 per hour plus monthly targeted commissions of $1,279. Employees also receive a ramp period of up to 2 months to adjust to commission earnings. Full‑time hourly base pay plus uncapped commission. 401(k) plan with company matching.
