We believe in exploring new technologies and methods that support the visions of our clients and positively impact the communities in which we live, work and play.Pepper's corporate office is looking for an Accountant to join our growing accounting team based in our Barrington, IL office.Please note: Only local candidates will be considered.What You'll DoThis role is an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of the growing Pepper construction corporate accounting team. This position will have responsibilities conducting accounting for multiple operating entities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Record fixed asset purchases, disposals and depreciation calculations and conduct annual fixed asset audit.Prepare and review journal entries.Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.Understand and apply all necessary accounting guidance, laws and/or contract terms as applicable to processing of accounting and financial transactionsAssist in the development and implementation of internal controls and process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiencyCollaborate with project managers and operational teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and financial reportingParticipate in the year-end audit processSpecial projects and analysis as neededWhat We're Looking ForBachelors in AccountingCPA or CPA seeking2+ years in a related environmentDemonstrated ability to analyze issues and recommend solutionsAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of managementHigh level of technical fluency in Excel and various accounting systems, Workday Adaptive experience a plusThe annual salary midpoint for this role is $82,000. We consider many factors when determining the actual hiring salary.
