This role focuses on installing and maintaining low voltage and fiber optic cabling in an industrial environment, including running fiber to equipment and machinery, mounting cabinets, and interpreting technical documentation. You will use a variety of hand and power tools to install, test, and troubleshoot low voltage, fiber optic, and copper cabling systems that support computer networks, testing equipment, and assembly line operations.

Responsibilities

• Install low voltage and fiber optic cable in industrial facilities.
• Run fiber optic cabling to cages, testing equipment, and assembly line machinery.
• Install and route copper cabling and network cabling for computer systems and related equipment.
• Mount and secure cabinets, panels, and related enclosures for low voltage and electrical systems.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to plan and execute installations.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete cabling and installation tasks.
• Perform basic troubleshooting on low voltage, fiber optic, and copper cabling systems.
• Work with computer cabling to connect and support testing equipment and other industrial systems.
• Support project completion by following installation standards, safety practices, and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 4 years of low voltage cabling experience.
• Proven experience installing fiber optic cable in industrial environments.
• Proven experience installing copper cabling and network cabling.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
• Hands-on experience with cable installation, including routing, securing, and terminating cables.
• Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for cabling and panel work.
• Experience with low voltage, fiber optic, and copper cabling systems.
• Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on cabling and panel wiring.
• Strong understanding of industrial cabling practices and safety procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience installing fiber optic cables in industrial environments.
• Commercial electrical experience is a plus.
• Experience working with testing equipment is a plus.
• Experience working with computer wiring is a plus.
• Experience in panel wiring, industrial cabling, and electrical work.
• Comfort working with network cabling and computer cabling in an industrial setting.
• Interest in apprenticeship and ongoing technical training programs.

Work Environment

You will work in an industrial facility environment focused on running computer cabling between testing equipment and other systems, primarily using low voltage, fiber optic, and copper cabling. Initial work is on a specific project expected to last approximately 3–4 weeks, with potential opportunities to transition to additional projects in the broader metropolitan area based on performance. Typical shifts run either from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., providing a consistent daytime schedule. The role involves regular use of hand tools and power tools, working around testing equipment, computer wiring, and industrial machinery. Travel to different job sites may be required, and when assignments are more than 60 miles from the office or job site, a per diem may apply. The environment is hands-on, field-based, and suited to individuals comfortable working in active industrial and construction-style settings.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Vergne, TN.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
