Lead Security Installation Technician

Location: Commercial project sites throughout the area

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

We are seeking a Lead Security Installation Technician to join a growing team supporting enterprise-level security projects. This position is ideal for an experienced Lead Technician or a strong Level II Technician looking to take the next step into a leadership role.

The ideal candidate will have experience installing, programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning commercial access control, video surveillance, and intrusion systems while leading installation teams and maintaining strong customer relationships.

• Lead installation teams on commercial security projects
• Install, terminate, configure, test, and commission security systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project documentation
• Supervise project activities and provide onsite leadership
• Coordinate project workflow and track installation progress
• Perform troubleshooting and system diagnostics
• Support customer systems through remote troubleshooting when necessary
• Ensure quality control and customer satisfaction throughout project execution
• Communicate effectively with customers, project managers, and team members
• Work independently with minimal supervision

• Minimum 3 years of experience installing, servicing, and programming commercial security systems
• Minimum 3 years of experience leading projects or supervising installation teams
• Experience with:
  • Access Control Systems
  • IP Video Surveillance Systems
  • Intrusion Detection Systems
  • IP-Based Cameras
  • Alarm Systems
• Working knowledge of IP networking
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Candidates should be comfortable working in construction and renovation environments that may include exposure to heat, weather conditions, dust, and other challenging job site conditions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, VA.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
