Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Caleo Counseling Services, the outpatient clinic of ASCEND, is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner either part‑time or full‑time with flexible hours to work with a diverse mental health population of adults. This individual will work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team for individualized mental health treatment and coordination of care for clients. Salary based on qualifications. Also, we participate in student loan repayment programs. Full‑Time & Part‑Time available, this is an in‑person on site position with remote opportunities as needed. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Education & Qualification Requirements Current licensure and registration as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by New York State. Current DEA licensure Valid NYS driver's license acceptable to Agency insurance standards. Must be of good character and background and display an affinity for working with people with mental illness and/or co‑occurring disorders. Must have the ability to work independently, have good problem solving skills and have the ability to work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities include, but not limited to Provide therapeutic intervention on an ongoing basis with clients to assist them to understand their emotional and mental behavior, and to help with their recovery. Diagnose and treat mental disorders by using analysis through cognitive and therapeutic testing, interviews and observation, counseling and medication. Collaborate and coordinate treatment with other service providers in community. Provide crisis intervention within the Agency. Participate in team meetings, and supervision as necessary, as well as engage in ongoing continuing education. Order laboratory and other special diagnostic tests and evaluate data obtained. Participate in Quality Management Initiatives Maintain a safe environment for all clients and staff. Maintain effective communication with other staff members and supervisor. Preserve human dignity and confidentiality of all clients and act in the best interest of those served through the Agency's programs and services. Assure quality of work at all times. Adhere to all laws and regulations applicable to the Agency's business. Adhere to the Agency's Corporate Compliance Program and established policies and procedures. Positively represent the Agency within the community at all times. Have adequate computer skills, or more refined for specific job titles. Actively participate in scheduled team/staff meetings as scheduled by supervisor or as indicated by the program's services. Actively participate in Agency sponsored staff development and in‑service educational programs as deemed necessary by supervisor, including mandatory trainings assigned per job title.
