Our organization is seeking a dedicated, full-time academic pediatric pulmonologist who is board certified or board eligible to join the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology. This position is based at a prominent children's hospital in New York City.

Ideal candidates will possess comprehensive experience in clinical pediatric pulmonology, with a preference for those who thrive in inpatient environments. The role involves supporting a dynamic consultative service across various units, including the hospital, PICU, PCICU, and NICU. We are particularly interested in individuals passionate about caring for infants and children with bronchopulmonary dysplasia and other developmental lung conditions, especially those who have experience with technology-dependent patients. Familiarity with managing tracheostomy tubes is highly regarded.

In addition to general inpatient and outpatient pulmonary care, proficiency in flexible bronchoscopy is essential. Skills in interventional flexible bronchoscopy are also valued. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in providing pulmonary support for the multidisciplinary Chronic Lung Care (CLC) Program within the NICU, collaborating closely with a team that includes a neonatologist and a nurse practitioner in a well-established BPD program. Responsibilities will include weekly inpatient rounds, participation in multidisciplinary outpatient clinics, and active engagement in the institution's chapter of the BPD Collaborative.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in both inpatient and outpatient clinical work related to pediatric pulmonology.
• Lead pulmonary support for the NICU-based Chronic Lung Care Program.
• Conduct flexible bronchoscopy procedures and manage interventional cases.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and outpatient clinics.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a three-year ACGME accredited Pediatric fellowship.
• Eligibility for a New York State Medical License.
• Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology.
• Experience with flexible bronchoscopy techniques.
• Meet the criteria for an appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in ventilator management.
• Skills in interventional bronchoscopy.
• Comfortable diagnosing and managing pulmonary vascular diseases.
• Experience with childhood diffuse and interstitial lung diseases.
• Board certified or board eligible in sleep medicine.

Compensation for this role ranges from $240,000 to $295,000, excluding bonuses or additional incentive compensation.

Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as experience, specialty, historical productivity, and community needs. Therefore, the final salary may be closer to either end of the range or, in some cases, may fall outside of it.
