The Assistant Club Manager Role

The Assistant Club Manager (ACM) is the driving force behind the club’s daily operations, membership growth, and team performance. Working hand-in-hand with the General Manager, you are a core leader responsible for fostering an inclusive environment, driving sales results, and ensuring every member who walks through our doors experiences world-class customer service. This is a high-impact leadership role that blends operational excellence, business development, and a passion for people.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Building the Dream Team: Assist the General Manager with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training a diverse, high-performing club staff. Provide ongoing coaching, huddles, and performance evaluations to ensure team growth and accountability.
  
  
• Driving the Business: Oversee the membership sales process from initial inquiry to closing. Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets to ensure the club meets or exceeds its revenue goals.
  
  
• Operational Excellence: Manage staff scheduling to ensure optimal floor coverage, maintain a clean, safe, and organized club environment through regular walkthroughs, and support administrative functions like payroll processing and reporting. Assume full leadership responsibilities in the absence of the General Manager.
  
  
• Member Success & Retention: Resolve member inquiries and concerns with a professional, solution-oriented approach. Foster a welcoming culture that drives community engagement and supports local marketing outreach.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education & Basics: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; a degree in a related field is a plus. Minimum age of 18. CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
  
  
• Management Pedigree: 1–2 years of management or supervisory experience in a fitness, retail, or hospitality environment.
  
  
• Proven Track Record: A documented history of achieving sales/performance goals and leading high-performing teams.
  
  
• Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
